Louis, dressed in a casual black suit circa 1880 found his way to the door and knocked three times politely.

"Please, come in brother. The kettle is boiling, and... I'm afraid I don't have any milk, but I've got sugar, if you take it?"
That wasn't strictly true. Prefect had sweetener, but he'd never fully understood the difference himself.

"Bonsoir, friend. Sugar is treat to the senses and as I am one known to indulge I should not hinder my reputation by refusing you."
He crossed the threshold and surveyed his surroundings. He'd seen far worse, but he could already sense the distant heat of the kettle boiling and a sudden comfort quelled him.
"I'm afraid I have misplaced my manners completely, I am Louis de Pointe du Lac. Thank you for your hospitality."

As Louis entered the room, Prefect turned back towards the kettle to fill the empty mug with tea and sugar. He didn't want to make Louis uncomfortable by being overly attentive, but he was sort of fascinated by the way the man spoke. When he introduced himself, Prefect gave a slight nod. It made perfect sense for the kind of person who said things like 'Bonsoir' to have five words in his name. He'd probably won them in a noble duel of some kind ( ... )
