Baby was impatient and to make this impatience less annoying, she took to bouncing a rubber ball against Luigi's wall, spitting off nursery rhymes as quickly as they came to her head in a sing-songy voice. She needed to get her hands dirty, damnit, and with the Master being a master douche and everyone else and their mom finding it so fucking cool to be so fucking lame and good, Baby's partner choices were dwindling. But Nero. Nero was so out of the scene and, to her, naive, that he seemed the perfect one to get caught up in her hell.
She ran to the door when he knocked, losing the ball with a careless behind the back toss and throwing the door open. Confirming it was who she'd been waiting for, Baby grabbed the front of Nero's shirt and yanked him inside, using the momentum to crash her lips into his, giving him a rough and hungry kiss. The door she managed to kick shut.
That...wasn't quite what he'd been expecting. Nero had thought the world--any world--had long ago ceased to have any ability to surprise him, but that certainly did. Ordinarily his reaction to being touched was to counter-attack, but he (fortunately) realized Baby wasn't attacking him. Not in a violent sense, anyway.
He was so very surprised that it took him a moment to remember to step back, staring at her in complete bewilderment. Oh, he knew what she was doing, he wasn't stupid--he just had no idea why. "That--is not the sort of greeting I'm used to," he said, only half-aware just what came out of his mouth. She'd succeeded in doing what nothing else had since the destruction of Romulus--completely and utterly flooring him.
She let loose a cherry whoop and giggled while she twirled on the spot. Clasping her hands to her chest, Baby looked on at him with a spark in her eyes, mischievous and predatory. "Does that mean I should stop, darling Nero?"
Baby unclasped her hands so that she could reach out and caress his face, tracing the tattoos with her gaze locked on his.
He stared at her. Anyone else and his reaction might have been much more pronounced, but Baby was both blonde and about the right age to remind him a little more of his wife than he was aware of. It made him go very still, rather than very violent.
"Is this how you normally greet people?" he asked, drawing away a little. It had been so incredibly long since anybody had touched him, period, that he had no idea how to even process it--and there was always the other worry, the thing he couldn't control, and which he didn't want hurting her. "Be careful," he added. "That is--it's dangerous for more reasons than one." Whatever it was she wanted from him--and he doubted it was just that--he highly doubted there was any way she could deserve what might happen. Even he wasn't sure, and he didn't precisely want to find out the hard way.
