Paddy had... to some extent, taken heed of Parker's insistance that they could use her gun to do this, or something else, and that they could work together - but it was public knowledge now who'd done it, thanks to McCullen, so Paddy decided to throw all caution to the wind and go for him. It would suppress that raging anger he'd had ever since he discovered people's rotting bodies in the dining hall.

For that matter, the raging anger he'd had since he was about 12 years old, but that was a different matter. He'd been waiting for Shinzon near his room for a while now, and after spotting him heading for the stairs, Paddy didn't step out from where he'd been hiding around that corner, but instead just swung his fist straight into Shinzon's face, hard, aiming to take him down.

Kirk didn't say anything as Shinzon pulled himself to his feet, didn't bother with offering to help or to give advice because he knew that it would just make the situation worse. And Shinzon was already a stubborn little bastard on his own, without a head wound and an accusation that he killed more than a dozen people.

"Yes, me," he said finally. "Can you walk there or would you like Kahlan to help you?"

"No." No, he didn't want to go anywhere with them. They would ask, they would demand to know, and his head was fuzzy. He wanted to be clearheaded when they questioned him, not beaten. He could feel the skin around his eyes swelling uncomfortably.

Shinzon took half a step down the hall, and everything swayed again. This time, he couldn't stay upright, and fell sidelong against the wall, stumbling closer.

That... wasn't an answer to the question he asked.

Kirk stepped closer towards the inmate carefully, signaling at Kahlan to do the same. To just go easy with him while he was still out of it because of the conk to his head.

"You need that bump to get looked at," Jim said. "That's all that matters right now."

"No." Yes. His hand lifted to the back of his head. When he pulled it back, it was covered in blood, and he frowned. Denying help now was foolishness. Shinzon nodded, carefully, and licked bloody lips. "The infirmary." If he could get there.

Kahlan stepped up to Shinzon and looked him in the face. Despite the fact that he might have been the culprit behind the mass killing, he was still her responsibility and she would help him if he would let her. "Do you need help walking there?"

Jim hung back a little bit, just watching Shinzon for signs that he was going to pass out and that's what he decided that he would step in and stop him from hitting his head on the ground again. Until then, he figured that Kahlan was strong enough to help him to the Infirmary.

So Kirk pulled out his PADD and sent a message to Uhura about where he'd stunned Paddy and what the man had been doing when they found him.

He opened his mouth to tell her no, he did not need her help, he did not want her help, but he couldn't quite remember the right words. So he nodded once, curtly, and regretted it as his head swam. This, he would take; once she knew what he'd done, she'd want nothing to do with him, he was certain. It would be her turn to be furious. He almost looked forward to it.
