The Master was picking an errant feather from his hair (leftover from his "meal" this morning) and attempting to ignore the nauseating pleasantness emanating from around him by the time he spotted the Rani. Putting a feral grin on his face, he began to approach his old schoolmate. Once the Master reached her, he snatched some of the hearts that had been fluttering behind him and offered them out to the Time Lady.

"Here, from the bottom of my hearts," he said, all smarm, as was common with this regeneration.

The Rani snorted, amused. "How touching." She caught one of the hearts between her thumb and forefinger; it wiggled a little, as if trying to get away. "Should I even ask why there's a feather stuck in your shirt?"

He looked down and plucked the feather from his hoodie and released it, allowing the light breeze take it away. "Whoops. Breakfast made an absolute mess." The Master shrugged flippantly, then clasped his hands behind his back and strolled around the Rani, as though inspecting her. "I'm surprised to see you still standing, my dear. I was afraid the excess of unchecked emotions would've been enough to cause you to..." He grinned, doing a sort of jazz-hands thing with one of his hands. "Self destruct."

She pinched the little heart; it squirmed again and slipped out of her fingers. She could have sworn it looked affronted as it drifted away.

"It is all fairly revolting," she grumbled. "I have attempted to look at it all as a kind of anthropological study. There also appears to be a great many wares somehow designed to boost the oxytocin and dopamine levels in the human brain. I'd take a sample, but I've nothing with which to analyse them."
