Martha couldn't believe that this had happened. One moment everything seemed to be fine, and then she had heard that Snape had taken Tosh hostage and was threatening to kill her. It didn't make any sense--it just didn't. What the hell had happened? She had known that Snape hadn't been sleeping, but she had no idea that he hadn't been sleeping to such extent that he would have come to this point.
A part of Martha wondered if she should have asked T-Pol before she came down to visit Snape in zero, but being as his warden hadn't placed any sort of limitations on visitors, that worry was quickly discounted. Besides, given her sudden outbreak of unpopularity, it was probably better to ask forgiveness than beg permission.
She took a deep breath before she stood outside his cell, watching him quickly. She'd known that Tosh had shot him in the foot (which is far more nice than where Martha would have shot someone who was threatening to kill her, if she was honest with herself and if she carried a gun.) but other than that, they were both fine.
Her voice was soft when she spoke. "So what the hell were you thinking, Severus?" She started without preamble; it would just be easier that way.
