And welcome he did. Lestat was up and opening the door swiftly, stepping aside to gesture her inside. He smiled, and there was the barest hint that his incisors were longer than they should be. Lestat had never been a fan of hiding, and here, where he didn't have to, he wanted to take full advantage of his new found freedom.

Full advantage.

"You came," he said pleasantly enough, and took a seat on his bed, reclining against the wall. Lestat waved at the desk chair with another smile, resting his arm on his knee. "I'm glad you did."

The way Serena's thought process worked was enough to boggle anyone's mind. She had never seen vampire fangs before, if that's what he called them. That's what they were to her anyway. When she did notice them when he smiled, her curiosity kicked in. Not fear, not even a suspicion, just innocent wonder.

She walked past him and sat down on the desk chair he gestured at, smiling back at him. "I'm glad I did, too." She had no idea how that statement was going to dramatically change. "Thanks again, it was really nice of you to invite me in."

"Of course," he nodded, shifting to lean on one arm. "You certainly aren't the only one here who misses home. Where is it you came from? New York?" Lestat tilted his head to the side curiously. He watched her, feigning comfort, feeling the thirst coming on. Like climbing notes in his chest. He tapped his fingers against his knee. If people couldn't truly die here, there was nothing to b e guilty about. She'd enjoy it as well.

"Yeah, that's right. I'm from the Upper East Side in Manhattan." Not that it should mean anything to him by her saying that, but it was more of a habit to distinguish where in New York you're from. Especially when there are people who look down upon certain areas, like Brooklyn. "What's it like? Being a vampire, that is."
