Afteer this, she was going to be making sure her inmate was confined to a strict schedule of monitored freedom and incarceration behind closed door. Some, like Morgan, regarded the place like a mental asylum, but Rayne was one of those who treated it like a prison and judged things accordingly.
One which sotpped off at New York for Christmas... Yeah, right.
The facial markings of who Firefly called out to, gave Rayne a burst of recognition, but she hadn't interacted much with them, if at all. Still, he seemed to be there, on his own.
Of course, Baby cursing aloud while waiting in a queue of little kids, brought her a swift glare from the redhead, who muttered a, "They'll throw you out," before looking back his way ( ... )

"Ian was with me earlier," he said, glancing from Rayne to Baby. "I think he is testing me, to see if I'll behave myself outside the Barge." Ian seemed to have more faith in him than he did in himself, but that was nothing new. Nero was often surprised by that--he wasn't at all used to having anyone around who wasn't afraid of him. It was not, he was discovering, a bad thing.
And Baby and her Warden certainly didn't seem to mind him, which was--also a novel experience. "So long as I don't do any real damage, I don't see why he would mind."

Without giving two shits what anyone behind them said about cuts, Baby grabbed Nero by the wrist and pulled him into line with them. Oh, she couldn't wait for Pavi to meet this one.
