Sylar arrived in five minutes, as promised. It was refreshing that someone didn't know him, might believe in him. Rose, The Doctor, Wichita. Serena. It was dangerous, but he was beginning to develop the hope that perhaps he could settle into a relatively normal life again. That maybe he didn't need to get more abilities, didn't need to work so hard to prove himself to so many people that didn't care. West, Elle. Prefect.

Stepping onto the deck in jeans, a nice button-down, and a loose black trench, with his hair slicked back and a small smile on his lips, he hardly looked the killer that everyone else knew him to be. In fact, he might even be attractive in the normal world.

Spotting a blond leaning against the railing and no one else, he stepped forward toward her. The snow didn't bother him really. He was almost oblivious to it as he took a spot at the railing beside her. "How long have you been here?"

The way he asked suggested he meant on deck specifically, not on the Barge in general.

When Serena saw Sylar walking towards her, she couldn’t help giving him a big and bright smile. Even with all the warnings to watch herself on the Barge, she still couldn’t stop herself from trusting people straight away. Didn’t even realize that she was trusting so easily.

Sylar hadn’t been particularly warm towards her, but there was something about him that she liked and wanted to know more about. Curiosity always got the better of her.

“Only a few minutes.” She gave him a sheepish smile and shrugged a little.

What it was about the man and blond women, he couldn't begin to say. Serena was merely the latest and he couldn't help but quickly compare her to Elle and Claire. Taller, a different kind of beautiful. Pleasant, perhaps too curious. She wasn't special from what he could tell, however, and that made all the difference. If he couldn't turn her into the Company sort of girl he could work with, then what use was she really? Unless she could teach him how to be a friend, to redeem himself to Prefect.

"What do you want to know, to understand?" He turned around to lean back on the railing instead of forward, head canted still to watch her. He was paying attention to even the smallest of gestures, wanting to understand her as quickly as possible. After a pause of consideration, he continued. "What makes you more than ordinary?"

“Whatever you want to tell me about you.” She wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted to know because this whole thing was new to her. Too many questions were running through her mind and she couldn’t just pick one. “I don’t even know your name yet, so we could start with that.”

Serena raised her eyebrows at the next question. She has never been asked something like that before. Was she ordinary? It’s not like she had ever sat down and wondered if she was more special then the next person. And she didn’t think he would be very impressed if she answered that with her status in high school or the publicity she received.

“Uhh… Well, I guess I am ordinary to you in that I don’t have any abilities or anything like that. But where I’m from, I’m definitely not seen as ordinary. I was practically an outcast there.”
