The Doctor was going through some books, sitting in his pilot's seat, feet up on the console (one book in particular about Merlin- one of his favorite characters from fiction), reading up on some of the people who were real here- very strange in his opinion, when he heard a voice from outside, yelling. A familiar voice. As if the TARDIS knew what he was thinking, the screen showed him who or what was outside.
"Rose?" He leaned toward to monitor and squinted his eyes, "What's that under her arm?"
He stood and walked to the door, and opened it, a strong smell of alcohol reached his nose suddenly- mixed with the smell of her.
The sudden sight of him managed to surprise her though really she should've expected it. The egg was still in her hand at the ready to strike. It was all too tempting to just throw it. All those times he just...but right that hadn't really been him afterall. At least not yet.
Rose just kept staring at the Doctor before deciding to speak.
"Why not? She deserves it." She just needed to take it out on someone. "All those times she's taken you away, might as well get back at her while there's still time left."
"It's not her fault," he was stroking the doorframe as he said this, then looked at her seriously.
"Put that down, Rose."
Leaving the door wide open, hands in his pockets, he walked up to her. He was resisting the urge to hug her- seeing her angry, sad...to the point that she was drinking herself into this state. His hands came out of his pockets and he took the egg carton out from her arm- careful not to touch her, same with the egg in her other hand, and set them on a table nearby. Good. Now that part was done.
She was enraged all the more at his actions.Should've hit him when I had the chance. Crossing her arms again her chest she rolled her eyes. Her tone was completely laced with scarcasm.
"Give the man a medal! What do you care anyway?"
There was a flicker of pain flashing behind her eyes as her finger was directed pointedly at him. "You're only gonna leave again in a few days."
