The last time Logan had seen Veronica - that he remembered, and now he was being told he'd forgotten two years - she had accused him of murdering his girlfriend and had threatened to have her dog rip his throat out.
What a pleasant reunion this was going to be.
He honestly wanted to somehow fix things between them, make her understand that he hadn't killed Lilly, or figure out where the last two years had gone for him. Something. His mom was dead, Lilly was dead, his dad and his sister were douchebags, Duncan and Dick were very clearly not here, he might very well be dead... Veronica was kinda the only person he had left.
It didn't take long to find her room.
"Got here in less than an hour," he called, knocking on her door. "Unless I somehow blacked out and missed another two years."
Veronica rolled her eyes a little bit and went to answer the door, leaning against it for a few moments after she got it open. "Boy, that's gonna get old," she commented, giving him a dry look to match the tone of her voice. That was going on her list of things that she didn't like about Logan. He liked to harp on things, which would've been cuter if it wasn't her thing first.
"You calling me a liar, Echolls?" she asked, cocking her head to the side a little bit at him. She stepped away from the door, letting him enter at his own will. "Cause those are fightin' words and it's gotta be really embarrassing to be beat up by a girl."
Logan scratched the side of his nose, looking to the side instead of at her. While normally he found her games charming and delightful, he wanted answers, not more run-around.
"I was raised to not hit girls, so it would hardly be a fair fight," he commented, stepping inside.
"So you wanna explain what's going on, or are we going to play more, 'cause I gotta admit, Veronica, this playing hard-to-get with the answers to my questions... that's also gonna get old."
"Did you ask me a question just now?" Veronica asked, trying to buy herself a little more time. She honestly didn't understand this place as well as she would've liked. Being turned into a fairy tale princess one week and then being attacked and magically healed the next weren't things she had to deal with in Neptune. Stolen belongings and missing people and the occasional murder mystery, those were things she knew how to deal with.
She moved deeper into the room, pausing to scratch Backup's head for a few moments before she looked back at Logan. "Cause it sounded to me like a demand and you forgot to say please."
Veronica let out a short sigh suddenly and straightened. "This," she said, gesturing around the room. "Is kind of like a prison ship for the morally damned."
