I read a book called Feed a while ago by M.T. Anderson that talks about this idea (having internet access installed in the human brain and it getting to the point where you have no choice about seeing ads and things like that. It led to an incredibly consumer-driven, dumbed-down society. At first the book turned me off because it seemed just that: dumbed-down, simplistic. But as I got further in, it made more sense. OOh, thanks for sharing that book with me.
Privacy is definitely an issue and that's why I don't think I would want H+ to be linked to my brain. Even if we could turn it off, I don't trust the programmer not to have put a back door to that option.
In the case of the series, there is a virus that gets into the system..and yea, not a pretty picture.
On the other hand, I think I would feel left out from those who are using it. I kind of feel that way now, what with people with smartphones and posting instant pics/updates when something cool happens.
Oh, and not to mention what it would do for interpersonal relationships. It's happening already, where people grow up with less interaction -I think we would miss out on that human connection.
