And what rough beast slouches towards Castlewood, so as not to be eaten alive by zombies? Dr. Alex Morgenstern, looking far less prim and proper than usual. There is a slight stagger to the good doctor's trudging, as there should be. After all, walking for eleven hours when you're far more used to sitting at a desk or swinging from a work harness ( Read more... )

[[OOC: the note reads "I'm coming out, please don't scream or shoot me." in a wobbly hand and the paper smells awful. A little like decomp.

While he is still a reasonable distance from the compound, a half brick with a bit of paper wrapped round it is unceremoniously lobbed through the air from a ruins of a building beside the road and lands not too far away from him.

Giving the brick a solid kick to make sure that if it was alive or explosive it wouldn't be doing anything nearby, Alex watches as it bounces away for any sign of activity. After observing it for a few minutes and mentally declaring it as dead as a brick was going to get, it seems like a good idea to see just what it is that's wrapped around it. Picking off the piece of paper between two fingers, Alex raises it to eye level, and peers at the spidery writing.

It earns a derisive snort, but Alex still looks around to see where it came from. Even if shooting is out of question, it would be best if screaming was, too.

After waiting for what seemed like long enough, Steve pops his grey head up over the ruined wall to see if the person has picked up the note. Seeing it in Alex's hands, he starts to crawl over the wall onto the road, trying to look as little like a zombie as possible. This is rather hard considering he is one, and is covered in blood from a gaping throat wound that whistes if air passes through it. He raises his hands to show that he means no harm and tries to make a friendly "hello" noise. Which comes out as "huuurrrruuughh."

Dr. Morgenstern is in no mood to interpret zombie sign language, thank you very much. Picking up the piece of brick and hurling it back, then turning tail and trudge-stumbling at a slightly faster pace in the direction of the compound sounds like a much better idea. The doctor isn't going to stop to consider whether prejudice against the undead is wrong, either.
