Bracing

Thanks to carpel tunnel syndrome, that scourge of the modern world, I've been sleeping in a wrist brace for about a month now. It's black and synthetic and strappy, and looks like a leftover piece of Janet Jackson's wardrobe from the Scream video. It's not the most comfortable thing I've worn to bed, but it pays off in the long run: once upon a ( Read more... )

I've recently come into possession of a nightguard to wear when I sleep. Apparently I clench my teeth when I sleep. Odd, since I don't feel tense or anything when I wake up. But another mouthpiece for me. Because the bionater, braces, headgear and retainer weren't enough. ::rolls eyes::

I had pain in my wrists, particularly my right, last year and few months after I started this job. I had to switch to one of split-finger keyboards and that seems to have solved the problem. For now, anway. But you mention the way you sleep, and I've noticed that I sleep with my hands in fists, cheerleader-style. I wonder if I'm cheering in my sleep or if it's related to the clenching of my teeth.

I'm a mess. :)

P.S. Pete's a sleep walker and talker. Oh, the stories I could tell you! But I won't post them here so I don't embarass my husband completely. hehe

Your Janet Jackson brace sounds like mine. Only I have two. And the squirrel dream cracks me up.

Did you survive the Great Power Outage of 2007?

Boy. Two Janet Jackson braces? Bet that makes sleeping fun. (And I'm glad the squirrel dream came across as funny, not creepy, as it eventually occurred to me it might. After I crack and go on a shooting spree, I'm sure this entry will be the one Fox News quotes out of context.)

I did indeed survive the GPO--by living in North Clarendon, where the power went out for a grand total of 15 minutes ;) Everyone else in my office was cold, miserable, and unwashed for four days, while I was warm, well-feed, and wearing jeans fresh out of the dryer. Mwhahaha.

The upside is I do a very authentic Robot now. (I'll remember that when I'm telling the interviewer how you were quiet and kept to yourself.)

I wondered if you were safe when WEBK started talking about who had power and who didn't, business-wise. I was like, "Well, if Hannafords has power..."

Living well really is the best revenge.
