Oh, so much to say about the movie! SO MUCH to say about the movie!! I have so many things to say, which I won't put all here, BUT I can say I love Fred and George even more now. :-)
(1) Wedding envy indeed. *smirks Emma Watson style* Poor boy is quite unlucky when it comes to ladies. Don't ask me why I don't like Nikki. I just don't.
(4) Two whole days. Poor you. I have to wait till bloody December the 3d (that's if I'm lucky enough to get the tickets)!
I must admit, the Harry/Hermione moments really had me questioning where their storyline was going. It differed so much from the book.
I think it was so heavily Harry/Hermione in order to make up for all the Ron/Hermione action in the last movie. They still haven't actually hooked up in book 6, after all, so it probably occurred to someone that a little Harry red herring was in order to keep things from getting too comfy.
Hehe. Sure our taste in men is different. In that you like the turds. =X
I thought the only IMAXes in Boston were in the museums? One is playing GOF? ::gets a little drooly::
I ggguuueeesss so but stillmissauroraNovember 21 2005, 18:05:34 UTC
...the Harry/Hermione storyline is so wrong. But, then again, it keeps evil Emma away from Rupert so that makes me happy. If I were younger, I'd go to England and track him down. ;o)

Sigh. I'll pretend I didn't hear that.

Nope. There have been a few popping up that aren't in museums. Jordan's Furniture has two IMAX theatres showing GoF and PoA. Let me know if you want to make the trek down as tickets are a bit rare.

Hey! This is 2005. You could be the Demi to his Ashton. (And even in in the worst case scenario, you missed being Mary Kay to his Vili by like...five years.)
Jordan's Furniture has two IMAX theatres
I suppose that two IMAX theaters at Jordan's Furniture is better than the zero IMAX theaters in my entire state, but my god. I feel like MA revolves around the Red Sox, Jordan's Furniture, and the word "retarded." Weird.
::cough:: So you want to go see Harry Potter with me? :)
(4) Overhearing profoundly random things in Walmart. ("Did you notice that the can of reddiwhip is missing?" piped up a little, boyish voice. "Yes," answered a hesitant mom, obviously fearing the worst. The boy again: "We ate it, Tim and I." "All of it?" "Yes." "Did you spray it in each other's mouths?" "Yes." "Oh.")
this was the funniest thing i've read in a long, long time. as soon as i finished laughing my ass off, i called ben in to see it. he laughed so hard, he was silent.
we saw "harry potter" last night, too. i was underwhelmed. i didn't like how they edited the material, although i know it was completely necessary. i also thought emma was completely overacting and many of the supporting characters were wasted. eh, i'll still see it again, but i have to say that my favorite of the movies is still the first one. criticize chris columbus all you want, but that movie was magical.

Teehee. There was another bit about the eating of reddiwhip taking place out behind the woodshed, but I thought that was just too rich to be believed ;)

Just like with the book, I feel like I have to resserve a little bit of judgement on the movie until I've gone through it a few (dozen) more times. Overall, I thought the acting and editing improved from the last movie, but none of these new school films have that sparkle of Chris Columbus' entries into the series. Sure the books got darker, but there was room for more marveling at the Quidditch World Cup.
If you replace the "ie" in "die" with "rool," you've got exactly what I did every time Cedric was on screen. I loved that look shared by Ginny and Hermione when they first realized he was going with them to the World Cup. He was like, a Hufflepuff rockstar.

And I hope you're going to post your thoughts on your journal--it's almost as much fun reading what people thought of the movie as it was to watch it.

(Ohmygod. Am I ever a judgemental bitch. But really. The boy's got an even worse attitude than I do.)
(4) Why December 3rd!?!? I thought it was being released simultaneously worldwide?

I disagree with you saying Ron was a turd. Though, I should know by now that our taste in men is vastly different.
Neville grew up the most. Wow. Where did that come from?
If you're bored enough, GoF is playing in IMAX down here.
