Sob story.

There are some things about me that I just can't change: I'm tall. I have green eyes. And I'm a crier. I cry when I'm happy and when I'm sad, and, occasionally, when I'm bored. It's not something I need medication for--it's just the way I've always been, and presumably will always be. Commercials make me cry. "Property of a lady" entries in Sotheby ( Read more... )

Can I make an addition to your list?
Gia a biography of Gia Carangi (model) played by Angelina Jolie
Leon Oh, come on. I always want to kill myself when Sting's 'Shape Of My Heart' starts playing in the end.
Amelie the french movie (one of my favorites). You will most definitely cry from happiness in the end.

Amelie is a big crier for me, too (or me for it, depending on your phrasing)--I always start crying right at the beginning when that old guy is erasing his recently deceased best friend from his address book. Later I cry from happiness, too--it's a lovely dream of a movie.

Have you seen A Very Long Engagement? It was made by most of the same people and will also make you cry, especially at the very end.

No, I haven't seen 'A Very Long Engagement', though I have heard about it (and even watched a documentary). It still isn't out in Australia, plus I prefer watching the originals, and it might take me a while to get 'A Very Long Engagement' in French.

On the way from Houston up to Hartford for school one of the in-flight movie options was Finding Neverland. There was a burly dude sitting about two rows in front of me. He must have played football in a former life- he was a big, butch, masculine dude.

He was crying like a five year old at the end. It was adorable- he kept serruptitiously (sp) wiping away tears, looking around to see if anyone notices.

I cry at Schindler's List too, and during the entirety of Band of Brothers.

LOL--he should have known better than to watch a movie like that on a plane!

I've never seen Band of Brothers. In fact, all I know about it is that it's a war miniseries starring a former New Kid on the Block. (Which is so weird I half expect the world to have exploded at the strangeness of it. Donnie?!?!)

There are lots of things in this world that make me cry -- but very few that don't make me feel embarrassed or manipulated for doing so. Tears, in my opinion, are a cheap emotion and fairly easy to elicit. However, I agree that Schindler's List is one of those movies where I felt entirely justified in my blubbering. The whole thing is so powerful -- Schindler's line at the end, when he feels guilty for the things he could have given up for more people, such as his car and the gold Nazy pin, kills me. "One more person! I could have gotten one more person for this!" Oh, man.

But my all-time favorite Holocaust movie, which has left an impression on my mind like no other movie in history, is an Italian film called Seven Beauties. It goes way beyond tears. Ever heard of it? If not, you should check it out sometime. It's totally worth it.

Tears are totally easy to elicit, if I'm involved ;) I wonder if they watch Schindler's List in school these days? We watched Glory in one of my high school history classes, and was a nightmare. Everyone was crying, including the teacher.

I added Seven Beauties to my netflix list, as I'm always looking for a good sobfest. Thanks for the suggestion!

Being obsessed with Johnny Depp isn't *sick.* It's a constant of modern living--the man is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I thought he was especially lovely in Finding Neverland, but that might just be in contrast to the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory pictures I've been seeing lately. He looks like a 60s weather girl, with that hair.

Agreed. But I'm still going on opening night to be in awe of him. Aside from being ridiculously gorgeous, he's a fantastic actor.
