Why yes, ham salad ;) And I don't even mean it in some classy British way--I'm talking chopped up ham with mayo and maybe some celery or something. It could be a trashy French Canadian thing, but you can get it at most sandwich places around here. ::yum::

Ooh, I need to check out that Lackey book. I've been obsessed with her books since the age of 12 or so, as well, thanks to my grandmother and her habit of pushing fantasy novels on me every time I visited.

I just finished the Lackey book this morning, and still recommend it. 'Tis a fun read, even if it feels a bit stitched together: The first part is very fantasy-esque, and the second part is very trashy romance novel-esque. Not that I mind either, but it's as if Lackey realized on page 250 that she just might sell the manuscript to Harlequin, so wanted to sex it up.

Did you read her Arrows of the Queen books? They were my first foray into fantasy, and even more than ten years later I can't recap their plot without weeping openly ;) I always thought Hanson should star in a movie version--Taylor as Chris, Ike as Dirk, and Zac as Skif. (I'll be Talia. Teehee.)
