Restricted Section may be your website, but it's my *boyfriend* ;) It's the Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans of Harry Potter fanfiction: a never-ending fount of wildly varied goodness. Definitely a cool thing to be involved with, that.
And I'm weirded out by Draco/Harry fic, so I don't know if I'll ever work up the courage to read the Draco Trilogy. I was obsessed with Cassandra Claire's Very Secret Diaries for LOTR, though. She's brilliant.
If you have any other fic suggestions, I am all ears to the point of ridiculousness. :)
Ooh, I love the secret diary. If you enjoy that, read Hermione Queen of Witches by the same author... it's Hermione's magical diary that parallels each school year, so all the events are told through her point of view. Warning: I'm an unabashed Hermione/Ron 'shipper. ;)
Off to go read the Remus/Sirius stuff now... mmmm.
i'll second you on not being a fan of AU, but i'll raise you a challenge to read, well, everything sam "copperbadge" vimes has ever written. particularly stealing harry, the ultimate HP AU, in which lucius malfoy got to pettigrew first, and a man named moony and his big black dog own a bookshop down the street from #4 Privet Drive...
it sounds crazy, i'll grant you. but you'll fall in love, promise.
also: wow. i never knew that so many people traveled from the hanson into the harry potter fandom. it blows my mind.
When you think about it, it sort of makes sense: We Hanson fans have always been notoriously susceptible to both coming of age stories and the sort of intricate plots that inspire flat-out obsession. (Given, our coming of age stories used to involve lots of talk about Taylor Hanson's virginity, but that's rather a moot point these days. So why not Harry Potter?)
I've actually been chipping away at Stealing Harry, and really do like it. The author has a way of telling a clear-eyed story that manages to be emotionally powerful while staying far away from the overwrought feel of most fanfic love epics. I like that Harry's a genuine little boy in it, carrying around his stuffed frog and his pet snake. (And Snape! I love Snape in that story, and his horror to find he cares about Harry.) I'm still a little weirded out thinking about Harry and Draco being friends, though, which seems to be the direction the series is heading.
I have a ten page paper due in less than three days and I can't get through writing a mere paragraph of it because I keep going back to read Harry fanfic. And I thought that stage of my life was over with.... :)

I can see the weirding out. But it's not Draco/Harry slash. ;) They just become friends, due to a weird series of events.
OH OH OH OH I HAVE ANOTHER.

the very secret diary. it's ginny's diary from her first year and i am bad at describing scenarios, and it takes a bit to pick up, but it is FABULOUS.
