Hi Booful! Here is a Wiki list of historical movies - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_historical_drama_films - some good, some not so good...there are a couple of Ancient Egyptian dramas in there too. Now, if you need any further help with Ancient Egyptian clothing, email me and I'll give you what I have. As an Ancient Egypt lover and Kemetic Pagan, I kinda know...^_^...
Unfortunately I ran out of time to incorporate this idea into my assignment, but I do plan on going back and adding the list for future reference! So definitely helpful!
I didn't get a chance to add this feature into my assignment, but I do plan on going back and adding it in later. Plus I'll be adding these to my 'to watch' list!
Jane Austen adaptations from the BBC would probably be good to look at for Regency. I've seen way too many of them (although, not all) and they look authentic to me but I'm not a costumer. I also have quite a lot of movies both from and set in the 30s, 40s and 50s as well as a couple from the 20s. I can write you a list, if you like? (I like to be thorough and doing it off the top of my head would bother me haha)
As to doing tudor and elizabethan together or not, remember that elizabthan IS tudor so tudor and elizabethan aren't necessiarily sepparate parts of the 16th century, but elizabethan is a part of tudor, as is the henrican (or however you spell it) style.
If it were me, I'd talk about tudor fashions and mention the way it evolved in the later 16th century (ie elizabenthan era), for instance ho kirtles (as in the petticoat, not loose gown) evolved into bodies, the introduction of the farthengale and ruff etc.
It really is a facinating time the 16th century for clothing I think, espeially when looking at the eolution of things!
Yeah, I ended up just talking about the 16thC as a whole, and talking about the evolution of the Tudor style and how Elizabeth influenced that when she came to rule. It's certainly a fascinating time period, and I definitely have more appreciation for it than I did!

At the bottom they've got a section divided up into historical eras to research movie costumes by.
