It's a lovely dusk, the sky fading to a shade of purple not seen anywhere but here, Adam's convinced of it. A light breeze flows through the trees, and it seems that all creatures here are at peace

Edmund has a book in the pocket of his jacket. Whitman again; he was sitting under a tree reading earlier, and letting Rachat graze on a long lead. It's too late into twilight for easy reading now, though, which is why the gelding is back in the paddock and Edmund is standing by the fence.

Out in the paddock, Rachat bucks playfully and tosses his head at the wind, and Edmund half-smiles.
