Two days to the weekend, thank the gods

I hate snow in April.

Ahem. Moving on from a rehash of yesterday's complaints, the evening was pretty good. I went over to rage_goblin's and watched him play a bit of Super Paper Mario. We went to Sun Shui, which is a Chinese restaurant also involving sushi, and the place we had gone for our second date. I had sushi, and also a honey-sesame chicken that ( Read more... )

How about holding a poll to see what you actually play and FINISH. :P

Woman how dare you start Suikoden and not finish it, that is just so illegal in so many states!

You also need to finish up Xenogears, screw Xenosaga but FINISH GEARS!

I'm in the process of getting the Omnigears - I have three, I think? And I'm working on the rest.

And I will play Suikoden eventually.

Ah, yeah, I do want SO3, but I feel like I should try to clear some of the backlog first! Especially since Disgaea is reputedly like 300+ hours if I try to be completionist. Oh gods, I am doomed!

On the plus side - in FF6 Advance, I'm doing really well, and I'm at the point in FF12 where I'm perfectly comfortable with keeping my current save file open to do all the niggly little sidequests like getting Zodiark and the rare monsters quest and actually getting the damn Order of Ambrosia, and then when I want to re-play the game I can play mostly for story and not have to worry about the rest of it, which is win and awesome. I have a lot of games where I'm relatively close to finishing them and just need to put in a bit of effort; for example, I plan to finish Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney tonight.

Puzzle Quest! I really want that game. Even though I know it would eat so much of my time it would be insane.

...Fortunately I am foiled for the moment by the fact that I do not own a game system that it's on.

Yeah, rage_goblin has it and I was so intrigued by it I died a couple times in FF6 because I was paying more attention to his screen than mine XD I was going to put off getting it until I could get a PSP to play that version, but I am weak and have no willpower, and therefore am buying it for DS.

I've played the PC demo, which has a plot cut-off point a few hours as well as capping you at level 7. I played it way past the logical stopping point, farming random encounters and riding around on my giant rat and eventually laying siege to all the cities which I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to do at level 7 but which is totally possible with skill and the right selection of equipment.

I may end up buying myself a DS in a couple months when I am gainfully employed.

The DS is totally worthwhile for that, and because you can play the first six FF games on it as well XD And the GBA versions (which are compatible with the DS) are actually superior to the NES/SNES versions, which is awesome.

(This is part of my not-so-secret campaign to get more awesome writers into early-FF fandoms!)
