Easter morning

Today I almost wanted to get up and find a church service somewhere to go to, even though I no longer believe in Christianity, simply because churches are pretty and Easter services tend to be pretty awesome, and because I felt like it would be comforting ( Read more... )

I understand what you mean, I think. I left Christianity a long time ago, but I feel much the same way about Christmas Eve services -- I love the music, and the candles, and the sense of community. I haven't been to one in years, but I often feel the impulse to seek one out.

It makes sense to me, in a way. Themes like rebirth and hope in a time of darkness resonate for all of us, religious traditions (or lack thereof, in my case) aside. So no wonder if we seek that out, in any form.

I hope you find whatever you need today. :)

Yeah. I practice a strange syncretic form of Celtic Neo-Paganism these days as a solitary, but I miss the sense of community and the established rituals and writings that Christianity has.
