Watched more Alias with the Pooka today. Hit a damn cliffhanger at the end of a disc so need another rental to keep watching. Hate that. Fascinating stuff going on though. I really want to run a Mage ( Read more... )

That book is the one with the girl who can't talk and has to go . . . collect something, I don't remember what, isn't it? Haven't read it, but I remember a friend ranting about how good it was years ago.

It's a retelling of the old faerie tale of the girl who has 12 brothers and their evil stepmother turns them into swans, and she has to spin 12 shirts out of nettles to turn them back, but while doing this, she cannot speak a word or the first sound will kill her brothers.
The retelling only has 6 brothers, and speaking will just cause her to never be able to lift the spell, and it's set in Ireland in the battle between Christianity and the old pagan faith. It's a really, really worthwhile book and I'm super into it.
