RINA RIIIIIIINAAAAAAAAAA WE SHARE A FANDOM AGAIN

IT'S BEEN WAY TOO LONG

Also, I owe lots of people a very long meta post about the awesome and cool and unexpected things THG does with gender (seriously, you do not get male characters in Finnick's role outside trashy yaoi manga, it's such a stereotypically female archetype but it doesn't feminize Finnick at all ( ... )

IT HAS BEEN WAY TOO LONG. OMFG. now if I actually write for the thing. I know what I want to write but it is an epic omg.

Yes! Talk whenever! I am online now I think unless iChat broke again.

....I want that crossover. (When Linden and I were talking about the kids' names I totally referenced Albus Severus, not gonna lie.)

...thanks, Puel. Thanks. You had to pick Hyacinthe and now it is crossing over in my head with Hyacinthe from Kushiel and now my brain is shattered. :P

YAY FANDOM IN COMMON. I know I am a very staid fandom sort of person who sticks in her ruts.

(p.s. I might be working on the really filthy Mitsuru/Akihiko tentacle sex pollen porn fic again maybe?)

Friggin' Finnick hit all my Balthier buttons. AND THEN SHE TOOK HIM AWAY. And I was more upset that Collins took him away from Annie than from the readers. The entire book was all "here is a marginally likeable character - let me drive them mad/decapitate them/blow their legs off/blow them up along with a bunch of innocent children" all the time. The death count in these books! I am glad I wasn't doing a drinking game.

I hope Cinna is reincarnated as a contestant on Project Runway so there can be 'Cinna meets Tim Gunn' fic. From one reality show to another, I suppose.

Yeah. Kind of like that, only with more flailing and reading all three books in something like six hours total.

Yup that was pretty much me. It took me about 2-2.5 hours per book, though I didn't read them all in one go. (I wanted to!)

sldfkjl;askjdfl;sjkfd KATNISS. FINNICK. PEETA. *flailing hands*

EXACTLY.

(I'm basically totaling up here-- obvs I had to read them in three separate sittings, since I borrowed them from work, but it was literally MAYBE two hours per book.)

I NEED TO WRITE THE AU IN WHICH FINNICK LIVES. obviously it will not be a nice happy friendly fluffy AU and I will kill other people and there will be clusterfuck-o-rama. but. but. FINNICK.

The offscreen thing that bugged me most was Finnick's death. Finniiiiiiick. To a certain extent, though, I appreciated that a lot of the revolution was offscreen (and in some cases I felt it was a POV limitation.) I would've liked to see more onscreen but I wonder if she felt she couldn't address it deservedly onscreen and still stay within the constraints of either length or the (apparently quite flexible) boundaries of YA?
