Yeah. Inception. Yeah. My quibbles: not enough awesome female characters (although Ariadne IS AWESOME); Ariadne's name is way the hell too obvious. At least to mythnerds like me. ....Also I am kind of bothered by the fact that I can't place whether this is meant to be near-future sci-fi or alternate-timeline something and that bugs me. But. I love Inception so hard. Seen it twice now. To answer your criticisms:

INCEPTION SPOILERS AHOY1) It is neither near future nor alternate-timeline. The entire movie is a dream sequence taking place in Cobb's head. Not one moment that we see takes place in the "real world", thus making such a question moot. For that reason I would definitely not classify it as science fiction ( ... )

I'm not sure I entirely agree with the entire movie being a dream sequence in his head. I might agree with you if they had cut the end about two seconds shorter.

Interesting theory about the 5 stages of grief, though.

The last scene is, to me, one of the most striking examples of unreality. It can't be real. For example: Cobb's children don't appeared to have aged a day, and are wearing the exact same clothes and going through the exact same motions as in his last memory of them. The fact that we don't actually see what happens to his totem the totem he stole from Mal is irrelevant; if anything it exists to encourage you to think about that scene and examine it more carefully.
