My inner biologist weeps.

I got into a disagreement with a girl. She has since deleted the conversation and blocked me.

L: A human is a human. An animal is an animal.
She!Sam: Humans are biologically classified as animals.
L: Key word "biologically"
L: You may look/smell/eat/ or live like an animal. You are you not an animal. That is why humans got the name 'humans', and ( Read more... )

All rectangles are squares but not all squares are rectangles.

I so very much hope so, but I don't think she ever will.

This is also why I don't get along with most people my age. My intelligence gets in the way. I guess I come across as a 'know-it-all bitch" or some such. (I JUST LIKE LEARNING, OK? *shameface*)

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH BEING SMART AND KNOWING STUFF! *hugs* When the Apocalypse comes, it'll be people like us who will figure out how to survive :)

an·i·mal
   /ˈænəməl/ Show Spelled[an-uh-muhl]
-noun
1.
any member of the kingdom Animalia, comprising multicellular organisms that have a well-defined shape and usually limited growth, can move voluntarily, actively acquire food and digest it internally, and have sensory and nervous systems that allow them to respond rapidly to stimuli: some classification schemes also include protozoa and certain other single-celled eukaryotes that have motility and animallike nutritional modes.

Classifications of species! How do the work?! Just because we're the only species to give ourselves a funny name doesn't mean we get to bow out of the kingdom entirely.

But don't you see? That's exactly what it means!

It also means we get to forget everything we learned in high school biology. Because, pffft. Who needs that?
