I was so lucky!!! It wasn't even planned, I was actually hunting for a shiny Swablu and it just happened to be a Slowpoke swarm that day! I'm really optimistic and excited to aim for more Shinies now, compared to Masuda Methoding (which is a nightmare) it really does seem easier hunting for shiny wild encounters!

I'm still chugging along on my national dex. 43% complete right now, I think? ^^; At least I've already leveled up the harder to evolve ones (Dragonite, Hydreigon, Garchomp, and co).

I'm probably more likely to be Masuda-ing but I have some pokemon I want to EV train so I'll be RE hunting too :D

I think my Spheal literally took 3000 eggs despite the Shiny Charm. 0.0 Totally worth the hell though, it was so precious and I was practically jumping. Masuda-ing is so tiring! But sadly that's the only to DEFINITELY get what you want.

Oooh do you collect Lanturn? I'm mainly using him for Illuminate but he has always been my favourite fish, being so fat and round and all. XD

Wow, congrats! I really need to step up my game and complete the Pokedex so I can get the shiny charm. (I technically have all the Pokemon between all of my games, but trading them between versions is a pain.)

Out of curiosity, how much time are you spending hunting for wild shinies?

I was lucky because when I was in Canada, I managed to pick up a few used old games like Leafgreen which had starters I needed. And yeah, trading between versions was a nightmare. XD

I generally play while I'm shuttling in between places, or when I'm watching a show on TV. Unlike Masuda-ing which requires attention (releasing eggs etc), wild hunting is pretty mindless so less stressful. :p

You are braver than me. I'd be too scared that I would run away by accident if I was hunting wild shinies. At least with Masuda-ing, I can double-check that there are no red stars on the Pokemon's markings. (I almost deleted a shiny Mantyke that I hatched because it looked too similar to the standard ones.)
