Sixteen. That's how many we are at Casa la Rox for Thanksgiving Day. Forget enjoying the holiday; I've been ripping my hair out, trying to make sure all will be accommodated when they show for the big day of dining and 'fun.' Thank God everyone else is doing the cooking. The basement has been cleaned and converted into an acceptable secondary

Good goose gravy, you're having sixteen folks for Thanksgiving?? People have been canonized for less! Are you going to roast the bird(s?) or fry 'em? My mom's attempting a turkey fry for the first time this year, which makes me happy that she's doing it and sad that I'll miss it! Apparently, pop raked up in the turkey shoot, so they have two to play with this year.

And mmmm to cinnamon on nearly everything- though I would probably draw the line at cat turds, too ;D

Two deep-fried turkeys, plus one ham for 16. It'll be too much. Big'n is cooking the turkey -- tell your mom we highly recommend the practice. You'll never want to bake one again. Injecting the night before is key to great flavor. We looked into smoking one of them this week, and discovered Big'n would have to start at about 2 a.m., as the process takes about 12 hours. Nah. We'll do that another time.

I'm glad you're changing things up a bit- ham makes a lovely change, and is less likely to make you fall asleep during football :D Ooo, I hope I'm around when you guys decide to smoke a turkey!

I reiterate the "I LOVE YOUR MOM" statement...only Mama Rox could come with something so deadpan and hysterical. I can just see her saying it.

We had 17 at casa de la in-law's last year :) I think this year it will only be 8. Mr. Croc wont' be able to make it...by my mama has been invited. So should be interesting.
