I face this crisis every year. More often than not I use either wedding paper (sometimes also awful, but at least not retina-burning red and green) or children's birthday paper that has giraffes or elephants on it. Not Christmassy, but who would say no to a Christmas gift because it's purple instead of red?
Beware: some burlap leaves crumbs on everything. Brown butcher paper is wonderful stuff- it's much sturdier than craft paper, plus it's easy to dress up with twine, duct tape, pretty ribbon, whatever the heck you want :D
I personally dig the laundry basket and/or duct idea! Give 'em something they can use with something fun inside! Like new slippers stuffed with creme brulee! :D
It seems like just yeserday we were in your old apartment eating McDonalds before the wedding and I was helping u in and out of your dress in the bathroom at the reception...ha ha....
I kept saying...hmmm...Big'N is gonna be one lucky man tonight :) (and has been for every night of his life since cuz he got one the best 3 gals on the market right!)
Much love to both of you....I couldnt love you guys more!
