I do a BA in Creative English at the moment...and unfortunatley that's the first thing you have to get over when you write to be read ><. Other people reading your most worked on stuff, and having an opinion. Once, however, you overcome the fear of getting crushed by unwelcome critisim, it's the best thing ever. I love it when someone in class goes 'well I think that bit was shit.' and I go - 'Why? How exactly was it shit?' and they go 'um...it just was.' 'Why?' and you beat them with a stick until they give you the exact reasons why they had a problem with it, and then you get them to tell you how you could make it not shit, and you feel yourself progressing ( ... )
