I really liked how you showed Jack's unsureness, how he's still dangerous at heart and fully knowing it. I'm not sure why, but the story begins to remind me of Beauty and the Beast, with the way that Jack seems to become 'tamer' with Rachel around.

Anyway, a most pleasurable read. I look forward to seeing what'll happen next.

Jack's going to become very NOT tame in a couple of chapters . . . wait, why am I teasing you? I know you're hooked on the story already. I think teasing at this point is just cruel.

Aaaaarglepofterblaster, I have to write Bruce, don't I? Darn it all . . . I don't want to make him the "bad guy" of the story, but he's got so much to hold against Jack . . . yeah, I'm thinking 20+ chapters. Hmmm.

Jack thinks he's in love, at any rate. He's acting like it. You're very welcome, love, and Rachel says she'll take your advice into consideration. Now to keep them from having sex for another chapter or two . . . difficult work, that . . .

You can ask, but I'm not going to tell you, because I really don't know. I forget what I'd originally titled it, but . . . I'd been listening to "Sing," by the Dresden Dolls, and the line "There is this thing that's like speaking except you don't speak" just really got me. Except it goes touching, then talking? I forget. But I think that's what I named it Speak. The title has nothing to do with the fic whatsoever.

The sequel's titled "Sing," by the way.

Yeeeees, really. Maybe I'll kill someone in it. I have this huge, horrible suspicion that I'm a romance author at heart, and I'd like to keep from having to admit that for as long as possible. ^_^

And I don't know what the fans would do without fanfic writers, but I know that if I couldn't write my brain would implode . . . ^_^

LOL! The Alfred and Dr. Morgenson parts made me smile, especially with all the uncomfortable little conversations they had to have with poor Jack. :-P Very cute...at least I know there's plenty more! ^^
