Well, i'm alive. I still don't have a computer that can handle Dragon naturally speaking, But David's cell phone has a voice to text application. It's kind of a pain in the butt to correct, So please pardon any mistakes.
I'm trying to learn how to walk on the prosthetic leg. It's also a pain in the ass. I just wish someone could tell me that one day

I don't have experience myself, but last year when I was in the hospital there was a woman having her stumps 'tidied up' (she'd had them amputated at the knee nearly 5 years before and the skin needed tightening) and she had been told to expect it to take months to get used to using prostheses again without pain, despite previous use.
I remember she said that she fully expected it to be painful getting used to the new fit, as it always had for a while in the past when she had new ones, but after a while it was okay so long as she wasn't on them for hours - a trip around a large supermarket was fine, a walk around town wasn't. I hope it won't be too long before you get to at least the 'uncomfortable' level and be able to get around better.
Many hugs, lots of good wishes, and I hope you find yourself in a position to express yourself through your writing real soon now (((hugs
