I still don't know the first thing about the Henry VI trilogy (yes, yes, shame on me -- I know), but I wanted to think you for the link. The "well-behsved women" post was absolutely fascinating.

Oh, don't be sorry about it. They really aren't that widely read (which to me is very sad, but I have my own agenda there), so it's not at all surprising or disappointing that you haven't!

I have a really hard time with this one. It's like trying to choose my favorite flavor of gelato!

I think that I will probably have to go with Mercutio. He was one of the few characters who actually recognized Romeo's funk for what it was, the whinings of a teenage boy. Plus, he was quick with a pun! But he had to die, of course. Shakespeare could not have that character pointing out stupidity ... it would have ruined the tragedy!

Oh, I adore Mercutio. :) He's just too much fun. And clearly he is too awesome to live.
