This was meant to be an analysis from someone semi-musically inclined, but I’m afraid it turned into a fangirl ramble. XD Anyway, here it is, my review of the new album...
heh, I agree with you in almost everything. Only I just happen to love Yukihiro's music. x3 And I'm still undecided about Ophelia, I don't know if I like it or not yet. ^^;
Haha, the talking woman on Existence scares me too. I also agree with you about Hyde's vocals. Aah~ I need to go and listen to it once again now. :DD
Thanks! ^^ I love Yukihiro. He's very talented and an awesome drummer. His solo stuff isn't bad, it's just not my kind of music, and just beacuse I don't like it doesn't mean it's bad.
A week from now I'll probably think Ophelia is wonderful. I'm incapible of disliking Laruku songs. XD
yeah, I understand. ^^ Yukki's music is 'my kind of music', it reminds me a little bit of Nine Inch Nails, which I love. (and I'm a raving Yukihiro fangirl. xD) But it's not for everyone.
I know what you mean... I tell everyone that I hate Blurry Eyes but then I go and listen to it and sing along happily. xD;;;
^^ I might like Acid Android someday. I've been known to be hypocritical when it comes to music. His solo effort had less mass appeal than the other members'. Personally, Tetsu's was my favorite (because I am a raving Tetsu fangirl xD).
I listened to get out from the shell a minute ago...and it's not too bad. ^^;;
hmm what can I comment on well I totally agree with you about " lost heaven" at first I wast like :: is that what everyone has been talking about :: then I tried a second time now it's almost my favorite song on the cd that wasn't a single before it's release.
and as far as "Twinkle twinkle" it's nice but i can't shake the fact that part of the chorus sounds like a song from the Japanese band " porno graffitti"
I find AS ONE to be my favorite so far. It's intensely Hyde and it works so well within L'arc. I'm not sure as to liking Ophelia-it's just hasn't grown on me yet. I loved most of the songs-don't get me wrong, but I'm not wild about others such as Trust or Twinkle Twinkle. I'm sure they will eventually.
The wonderfully intriguing thing about Hyde is that while I associate heavy songs such as AS ONE with him, tracks like Ophelia are very much him also. Like Roentgen and 666. Both are totally different musicially and lyrically, yet both are very much him.
