Which 5 concerts would you like to be included in FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES 3?

Greetings L'Arc fans,

Firstly, I would like to say L'A HAPPY NEW YEAR! 2014 marks the start of 23rd anniversary of L'Arc~en~Ciel (can't believe it's been almost 3 years since 20th L'Anniversary LIVE!) and also the release of their first (ridiculously priced) Blu-ray box set "L'Aive Blu-ray BOX" (out on 26 February 2014), containing 18 Blu-ray ( Read more... )

same as yours. Very nice compilation/selections/line-up. Honestly as long as it`s Laruku, no doubt, any will do, I can play their concert dvds [and all music] everyday hahaha ,but I am afraid I can`t buy this wonderful Blu-ray box, I can`t afford this time. but really hoping to have it. need to save more.
L`A Happy New year ne.

i definitely love your picks. i'd buy it right now if it was available. especially want to see L'A Happy, 2011.12.04 - 20th L'Anni, and 2012.05.12 WT shows. and Jakarta of course. but agree with your assessment on how they pick at least 2 versions of a tour to release in these special sets, so TOK is up for another date.

seriously, the powers that be need to get on with a Zero version too. i'd be happy for any shows, but you picked the better ones we get to see occasionally on YT, etc. or how about a dvd/blu-ray of Touch of Dune vhs? i know, Danger Crue release, but still.... a cleaned up disc of all [3?] of the Nostalgia "shows" shown on tv, in 94 i think, would be nice. as would some truly indie bits. ^ ^ won't hold my breath on those! but, that bit they put on the TWENITY dvd shows they have the ability. arggghh, this topic always aggravates me, i feel i have been singing this tune forever, here and there, wherever the topic would appear! lol ( ... )

I agree, they definitely have footage of all those concerts and recordings stored in their own archives. It's also obvious most of them have been kept in good condition, or at least remastered for release, judging from the early footage shown on the TWENITY box set DVD. I can't help but think it may be something to do with the sakura's image in all those concerts. Now, I'm not familiar with Japanese law and copyright, but I guess sakura may get some of the profits if they do release a box set of the concerts, TOUCH OF DUNE, or other related media. It may also involve whatever management company that sakura is also currently under. So maybe that is where things get complicated ( ... )

Just a question: why do you think 'Link' will be cut from your 5th disc prediction? Is it a trend for them to omit that song? And why?

Ah, you misunderstood me. Link was cut from the TV broadcast of the concert. They aired it in full on TV, but cut the MC parts and the song Link. If they do release it on DVD I am certain they will add those parts back. I guess they want fans to actually buy the DVD for the full experience.

They have cut songs from DVDs in the past. For example, for ASIALIVE 2005, they cut half of the songs on the DVD. In TOUR 2000 REAL on FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES, they cut ALL YEAR AROUND FALLING IN LOVE and Niji. Why? I don't know.

The only DVD I know why they cut the songs for is on "Are you ready? 2007 in OKINAWA" where they removed Bye Bye and SHINE because they haven't released those songs on CD yet.

I know they used to cut songs from home video releases because of VHS length restrictions. But starting from the THEATER OF KISS DVD, they no longer remove songs.

nice picks and nice analysis as well! it would be such a lovely box to contain those 5 lives you mention, especially the L'Anniversary Tour and WT at Jakarta!
i was lucky enough to be able to attend the Jakarta live and as for now, it's the one i want to see the most being released officially in a DVD!! >_<
i actually thought that they would have their FIVE LIVE ARCHIVES 3 released next but the label apparently chose to have that Blu-Ray box first nee *sigh*
let's hope they have something new and wonderful to release soon this year! >_<

I have a feeling they are actually saving FLA 1, 2, 3 (and 4?) and all those CHRONICLE releases for Blu-ray box sets later.
Next thing is a complete box set of all singles, then a box set of all studio albums as part of their 25th anniversary.
Then L'Arc will split up for another 5 years only to return for a short time to celebrate their 30th anniversary.

Afterwards, they will disband due to lack of communication and interest from every member in the group.

Fortunately, sakura, joined by Indie era members pero and hiro, clad in Super Sentai (Power Ranger) suits will rise from the ashes and save the band from impending doom caused by the formation of VAMPS. As a result, VAMPS will be eternally banished to the nether, where hyde will no doubt be too busy doing blood-sucking duties as a vampire, no less. sakura will replace hyde as the lead vocalist and L'Arc will finally release a new album after 10 years. ken eventually quits smoking, yukkie finally gets married, while tetsuya is still fondling his bananas. The end.

WHOA! Why do you have to be so detailed?! :O Absolutely solid list man.

I'm thinking one of the "SMILE TOUR 2004" would be a contender for the next FLA3 and most definitely one of the WORLD TOUR countries. JAKARTA would have the best chance! (Though I'd like Hawaii to be in FLA3...)

I've been missing out! I didn't realize you're making L'Arc LJ so active. I will frequent here more. Thanks Andy!
