Oh my god!! You're not AT ALL being over sensitive and if I were you I'd never want to see her again! What a cow.
Personally I think 1-2 groups per day is too many. Yes, socialising is beneficial to little ones, but so is doing nothing at home. It's about balance! It sounds to me like you've got the balance just right.
How exactly are you meant to have prevented him from walking?! What a thing to say to someone who is clearly concerned.
I don't think 16 months is anything to worry about walking wise, btw. Maybe if he's not walking by 18-19 months you could mention it to a Health Visitor, but it seems to me that plenty of toddlers don't start walking til around 18 months and all it means is that the wobbly steps stage is shorter and they're off running around the room before you can blink :)

Your definitely not being over-sensitive.. Your friend was so out of order. What business is it of hers? I know lots of kids that were not walking until they were 18 months.. One little girl I know didn't walk until she was 22 months.

I don't go to any baby groups and James is just fine. Don't worry honey, your doing a great job :)

Lara, the woman is an idiot. She may be a nanny (woo!! she must know EVERYTHING about EVERY child then, right?) but the fact she goes to two or three A DAY just makes her lazy. She'd rather sit and drink tea whilst her charges are being looked after by staff?
Anyone who knows you knows how much you adore Sam.
Dump the bitch, she's no friend.
x

Oh, and PLEASE stop worrying about Sam's development. Ryan shuffled on his bum until he was three, I never thought he'd walk!! Sammy will be just fine. x

Sorry but what a rude twat! Funny that, she's a nanny but she doesn't know that every child develops at his/her own pace? She really doesn't sound like a good friend at all :-(

i'd tell her to fuck off and mind her own business. how dare she!! even if she has kids, it's not up to her how sam is brought up. AND all kids develop differently anyway! I know babies who are talking before they're walking, and others who don't talk until they're 2, and a little boy who was potty trained at 5... children learn when they learn, not because they're in a fucking baby group.

god, i'm so angry for you, i'm getting really riled up. i just can't imagine anyone saying such a disgusting thing to someone else, let alone text it to you!
