Don't get too close... it might be catching

Because of this story by frea_o and a comment I made there and a comment she made back, I've started working on a variation of this afghan:

I AM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS I MIGHT LEARN TO CROCHET. I WANT A BULLSEYE AFGHAN.

Also, since the coffee story kind of inspired this, I have some gifs for you about that:

Sign me up for the introductory courses if you do get them worked up! I've just taken a couple of knitting classes and really enjoyed them -- I'd love to add crochet to my repertoire.

And please keep us updated as you progress with the afghan -- it's going to be gorgeous!

So. Are you telling me that my little prompt not ONLY gave rise to a gem of a story by frea_o, but ALSO to an Afghan? Well, I never. *coughs modestly, preens a little*

I want to see photos when it's done!!!

(And maybe a manip of Hawkeye with a broom...)

I've promised pictures of the process so you will definitely have them!

That would be a pretty cool mannip!

I love them all. I know how to crochet, but only back and forth lines lol

Circles are actually easier for me! No hoping the sides end up even. We found this stitch called the Sideways Shell that is considered a "beginner" that is soooo pretty that I find myself not wanting to do anything else! It's so easy that you feel like you're doing something wrong! I taught both coworkers how to do it and they are both different levels so I can safely say it's super easy.

Anyway, enough rambling about yarn I've gotten sort of addicted to it lately!

Oooooooooooooooooo. I am so tempted to go look for afghan patterns now! I can't wait to see the finished product!

Are you on Ravelry by any chance?

I've signed up for Ravelry under Yarn Tribbles so I can see patterns but I haven't gone much further than that. This is a pattern I found on Lion's Brand.

I don't think I'm going to do all the small circles in a color but do them in gray so there aren't as many noticeable circles. That should keep it from being quite so cluttered. In my head, that seems fine. I wonder what it'll look like in real life!

Also, if you run across a pattern that screams Captain Marvel, will you let me know? I've actually been thinking of doing that quilt for a few days now but can't find anything distinctive.
