I loved the explanation of the missing owls (even if I share Hagrid's feelings about the issue).

Glad you liked it! I started this fic four or five times but yesterday I suddenly got the inspiration (was at a birthday party with my cousins and they would have shot owls no matter what the birds were carrying in their claws - decided to make some popcorn - was looking through the last few prompt lists I need to complete at 5_prompts) and it just came to me! Thanks for the prompt!
