Is it the Year of The Tiger?

Feb 19, 2010 16:40

I just watched live on Sky News, The Premire Golfer, Tiger Woods apologise to all about his adulterous misdemeanors.

If you also saw the whole speech and wan't to give an opinion. What do you think?

Methinks the laddie doth protest too much. inamac February 19 2010, 17:18:44 UTC
Heard it on the radio - and if it had been a Brit (possibly Tony Blair) I'd not have believed a word of it - but the transatlantic divide makes it difficult to tell whether gush is sincere or not. Benefit of the doubt? Probably sincere...

I agree what you say about Brits but I can't even imagine a Brit Sportsman, (Say, John Terry) even thinking they need to apologise publicly for infidelity!

Why should anyone care about a golfer's adulteries except his family? I never understand this!

I really don't understand it either. I suppose it's all to do with commercial sponsers wanting their sporting heroes to be squeaky clean.

It is possible to be a squeaky clean top sportsperson. Remember, these people are role models to lots of youngsters and I'm happy that Mr Woods acknowledged that he let them down badly!

I don't even get the point of him doing a sucker's all apology, I mean he's done what he's done and the world has moved on. No need to reopen old wounds. The only people who need apologising to are his family. A funny world we live in!

It's fascinating that only my Female Friends have commented on this pole up to this point! I think if he just came back to the Golf circuit without saying anything then he would be hounded by reporters for all the wrong reasons so he's trying to draw a line under this in the public eye. He did say that any conversations about specific affairs are only going to be between his wife and himself and for them only to resolve.
