Icons in 2010 were really about 2 things for me: vibrancy and textures.

I like bright, vibrant colors, and I'm a bit of a texture whore. I've also been told I make good black & white icons. Its hard to say what techniques that I focused on improving. I'm always aiming to improve my coloring, cropping, use of text, etc.
