Rescued a Cat in Need

May 28, 2012 23:13

Last night I was looking for one of my cats, and I couldn't find her at all. I passed by an open window where I heard a cat screaming like she was about to die outside. I ran outside, and being in an incredibly rural area, searched but did not find my cat. Since it was well past dark, I noticed my neighbors across the way were standing in their ( Read more... )

I came here by way of darkphoenix. I don't live anywhere near Texas but I know someone in the Dallas area. I'm going to email her a link to this post on facebook. She's tender-hearted, I believe she will at least boost the signal.

Will post to my journal. If you would put up a Paypal button I imagine those of us can't adopt her could at least donate $5 for her care.

It hadn't occurred to me to ask for more than time and space for her, but I sure will when I put up my update on her.

I'm near Dallas (Plano), and while I'd need to know her FIV/FeLV/any other contagious disease status before making the offer (I understand the tests aren't cheap, I just have two other cats, both healthy rescues, and I can't risk exposing them.) I can't adopt, but I can conceivably foster.

I will absolutely put the word out in the meanwhile, and if you put up a PayPal button/post your PayPal address, I'm sure a lot of people from all over would want to help this sweet girl.

Wishing you the best of luck -- she's very fortunate to have found you!

*hugs*

Thank you Andi! I will do, and I'm thinking about getting her tested to for the sake of my own cats, since that way she won't have to stay isolated in a bathroom.

Yeah, that was my main issue with my previous foster -- he was FIV+, and keeping him isolated was pretty difficult. It wasn't that I thought he'd beat up my cats (despite being bigger than both of them), it's that my older female cat is pretty grumpy and dominant, and I didn't want to run the risk of even a play-fight causing the infection to be transmitted through a bite.

Good luck!! Here's hoping her test results come back in good shape! <3
