As it wasn't, after all, the "War to end all wars" I wonder if some of the leaders of the world might like to muse on this piece by Kipling before they decide to send others to war for a cause that THEY personally will never have to pay for

Yep - post the war (and the death of Jack) - might be around the time he was travelling around the War Graves. Very different from his earlier more jingoistic offerings.
