Woot!

I've just booked tickets for The Duchess of Malfi, first production of the first season at the Globe's new indoor venue, modelled after the Blackfriars theatre. London in January!

(Also, yeah. January.)

"London in January," meh; but "January in London," not so bad. :)

(I see what you did there!)

I do my poor best.

Also, BTW, and though I would also be a day late to my own funeral, may I offer a heartfelt hooray? (I say this not as a stalker but as a close reader of your journal, past and present.) :) Hope all was wonderful.

Thanks. This was a 'birthday of significance', so we larked off to New Orleans for several days... and it turned out that my parents and sister also came and surprised me. (A real, true, 'I had not any inkling' kind of surprise.)

It was great fun.

Wait, London in January? What dates?

Also, I was considering that season and that exact production just the other day.

Our theatre tickets are for Wednesday, 29 January for the evening performance. I have a feeling we'll fly over on Sunday night, arrive Monday, and be there until Thursday, but we haven't decided that part yet. Sadly, that's not very compatible with the work week. :(

I'm also going to be in London in June (10-16), but that time it's with my in-laws and one of my nieces, and we've got a mad tourist itinerary planned, so I've been debating whether to let anyone know I was coming. (First time I'll have been back since 2006.) Are you still in term then or off on travels? If not, I'll send you a copy of what we're planning to do, and maybe we could coordinate something.

Annoyingly, when you're in London I'm variously in Durham and Bristol doing exam board stuff (so, not termtime but mega- admin). How exciting that you're visiting! Let me know what's going on anyhow? The weekend might be do-able.
