in reference to gorgeous, sculpted cloud reflecting the first bits of sunset:

"Gosh, that looks just like Hudson River school painting!"

To which I answered "Yes, " and wandered home with my poweraid.

Wow. I never even *heard* of that school of painting. But now that I looked it up, the style looks kinda familiar. It's amazing how underemployed a lot of people are.

I wonder if that style spawned the pastels that Jim got from his grandmother. They're rather idealized nature scenes that I guess were quite popular in the 20s.

Gas station attendants are a luxury these days. Perhaps a new career for art history majors?

Where did you find a gas station attendant? Is there a full-service station in South Mpls? I know there's one in St. Anthony Park (it's actually owned by an old classmate of mine).
