- John's head is so light, he disappears into the background - lots of movement and good use of negative space - I love the colors, cropping, and use of brushes! - Lovely composition, I like the fragmented text pieces and the colour at the bottom
- The black and white is almost too contrasted, so that it looks oversharpened in a few spots even though it may not be. And the black bar on top and blendy white bar on the side don't really add anything too it and distract one's focus to a weird place on the icon. - Hard to chose, they're all great, but this one, the mood of the overall icon and cropping that enhances the feeling are fabulous and I love it. - I really like the crop and the mood set by the use of black & white. - wow, totally love it... *thumbs up* - I just love the way the deep shadows work on John's face, and the b/w really highlights that. Simple, but elegant.
- icon is oversharpened - The black background is very daring but it is not clear what the blue parts are. - I love the colours and the contrast. - Dramatic and stylized. Not too grungy, not too blurry. Nice. - It's too harsh, the lighting/contrast is too much, and the texture seems overbearing and too sharp. - the composition is really nice but the saturation and pixellation is overwhelming. - I really love the coloring on this, it's dramatic but works. The blue brush or texture follows the contours of Teyla's position, too, and adds to the overall appeal. - All the details of Teyla are gone, the colours are too "burned out", they are so harsh and overexposed, making her look pixelated. - Beautiful colouring and use of texture,I love the strange effect of the blue! - a little oversharpened, but still, a fantastic idea; I love the bright red of Teyla and how it matches the blue brush; it really sets the scene :).
I just wanted to let you know that I won't be able to make the banners until Saturday or Sunday. So don't worry, they'll be a bit late but they'll definitely come :)
But I made it so much further than I expected to get and I feel like I learned a great deal of things. Thank you shadowserenity for a great round of lims! :)
- [The blending needs a little work and the mix of black and white throw off the balance of the icon] - the green is just everywhere... it takes away from Sheppard and Teyla... - The pictures don't really blend - with each other or the background. I think perhaps if Teyla were not in black and white it would work better, but at the moment she looks slightly plonked in. - The texture seems randomly placed around John and Teyla - the way it blurs over them looks sloppy, not purposeful, and the way Teyla is b/w and John and the texture are in color makes it look even more slapped together - the composition seems without direction. - image quality is reduced, making the icon blurry; B&W Teyla sticks out like a sore thumb given the colours of the background.
