People!

Not liking something does not give you the right to threaten and harass those you do not agree with!

The people who voted for the bill didn't do it out of spite so get over it and be sensible about it!

Don't like what's going on? Contact your representative and tell then (in a non-threatening way) how you feel about it and why its a bad idea.

I hear you on that. I've had people send me anti- healthcare reform group invites, and start picking fights about it in front of me. I have my views, but I also want to have friends left when it's all said and done.

Agreed! I just don't know why people can't just agree to disagree and try to work out something inbetween, or just recognize that you don't agree and just leave it at that!

I know I have views that differ radically from a lot of my friends, some of which conflict directly with each other, but we either avoid such subjects or politely agree to disagree on the matter.

Economic philosophies differ, and I'll even agree that this is a bad time to be looking at more government spending, but at the end of the day, at least this reform is about the health and life of our countrymen. I can think of plenty of things over the last decade involving both administrations and federal government that should be upsetting everyone a hell of a lot more.

I admit I'm none too thrilled with the bill and some of the things that it does (why are we addressing student loans in a healthcare bill?), but I'm not going to throw rocks in windows or vandalize personal property over it.

Indeed, there has been far worse legislation, but I think people are a lot more passionate over their personal health than other things.
