Hank Cramer is from my area, and I love his voice SO MUCH! I've seen him live several times, and he usually comes to town and does "Touch a Name" for Armistace Day....

I really wish we had a better set of rituals around loss.... it would help so many people...

He does have a lovely voice and this song is just a perfect and lovely tribute.

I agree. Funerals are fine for what they are as a send-off, but rituals of rememberance over time are virtually non-existant and it's hard to find and make your own that suit.

Day of the Dead is a good one.... Bringing out pictures of lost loved ones and setting them together for a week, and then spend a night with them lighting some candles and thinking about them.

At least its SOMETHING.
White American culture just breezes over the feeling of loss and remembrance as the years go on.

Thqt while stoic stiff upper lip deal and if you can't profit from it why bother? The USA was so concerned about becoming a homogeneous "America" that it (literally and figuratively) whitewashed much of the culture it could have had and I admit to feeling a bit robbed at times because of it.
