I need new halfchaps and I have shorr "athletic" calves which means they are as tall as they are wide. Dover seems to be out of everything that could be my size at a reasonable price. I also need new gloves and have a $50 gift card ( Read more... )

I'm in the same boat, re: half-chaps (though it's more "i'm fat" than "athletic"). I ended up getting some from HorseLoverz.com earlier this year. Not great quality, but Dover didn't have anything online or in store that wasn't custom. They've been scaling down their inventory for a couple years (and a lot of stuff is shipping direct from the manufacturers, which was a pain in the ass for returns in the store), which is REALLY frustrating because they FINALLY started carrying breeches that fit my butt, but now it's like... GL finding them.

The local tack shop saved the day with Medium short wide Ovation half chaps, woo! The average maker just doesn't seem to believe you when your calf is as long as it is wide.

That's a shame on the inventory reduction. I guess it makes it more efficient and less costly so they can pass on savings (or line pocketbooks...).
