Zetahras Erinnerung

After we lost Zetahra I was looking for things I could have made to remember her by. I settled on a ceramic pendant that used a few of her hairs to burn a pattern onto the piece. I usually just wore it on Sunday and Tristan liked the look of it. A couple months ago he got into my jewelry box and pulled it out as I was finishing lessons and Chris ( Read more... )

I've always loved the patterns of horsehair pottery. memorial pendants made using this technique is a great idea!

They are quite cool. I find the difference between the two artists' work interesting. One more smokey and diffused and the other pretty crisp. I like that it doesn't take a whole lot of hair. The Dancing Fire also does dog hair as well.

Look up house of Salmi on Facebook... That's what I'm doing with Nelina hair when I'm not poor!

I looked at them before. I thought about rings, but the only one I'm wearing right now is my wedding ring and I'm not sure how much I would wear it.

I found another one (Enigma Horse on Etsy also http://sarahfoxfineart.co.uk) who is less expensive and I like the design of some of her pendants and necklaces.

Oh wow - that is such a fantastic idea. The pendents are gorgeous and I'm so pleased that they were not only able to replace the original, but sent you extras as well (to guard against small and errant hands...? :P).

Your thank-you sketch is absolutely gorgeous.

I was really surprised when I opened the package! The extra token of gratitude was well-earned. Yep, little men can be a bit pesky and don't understand the concept of "fragile." They aren't little thin pieced of pottery either, it's between a half and quarter inch thick.

Thanks! Wish I'd have thought to snap a shot of the other one I did too. Zetahra was pretty photogenic
