The only thing I can tell you is that I've always known when it was time. They tell you/show you, and you just know.

I know my parents waited too long on Blaze. I actually ended up taking him because everyone else found something else to do, which sucked. This will stink too, but she's my dog, unlike Blaze who was the family's.

I just don't see her being very happy right now. She stress pants a lot and spends most of her time either sleeping or looking slightly confused as to where she is/needs to go. She has good moments, but they get fewer and fewer and I don't want to wait until they're all gone.

Very much agreed with Nutmeg... it was especially difficult with Arya because she wasn't old at all, in fact just a baby, when she became ill but they very clearly begin to show you when it's time and you yourself will just know. They will give you the right queues and you'll know in your heart. *hugs* <3

Thank you. I think at this point we're on the edge of the good moments outweighing the bad unfortunately. In some ways she is still in pretty good shape, but in others she isn't the vibrant, happy dog she was even a year ago.
