I've been sitting here trying to come up with the 'right' comment to leave, but I'm not sure that's a reasonable goal, so I'll just say this: you are a wonderful, amazing person, and I'm sorry you're hurting. I send you all the virtual hugs in the world, and I hope you take whatever time you need to climb back up. You are not alone.
And I'm glad you're writing now too. :P I finally caved, broke my internal 'no-reading-WIPs' rule and caught up on Ruse the other day, I couldn't help myself. Sherlock fandom could definitely use as much schmoop as possible.
Ah, I'm so glad we agree on the schmoop issue. Sherlock fandom seems to be a bunch of very young fans who are all about the PAIN OMG ISN'T PAIN WONDERFUL. Which, okay, whatever shakes your boat. But when you're old like me, you've had enough pain in RL, and fanfic is where you go to FORGET IT. *g* SCHMOOP! There can never be enough.
Thanks for the kind words, hon. I really do appreciate it, and it helps tremendously to know there are good people out there. *hugs you*
So, umm, I know I usually stick to the creepy fan side of the world, but I had to offer hugs and support. And gods, just that line/scene you mentioned had me crying... too close to home, yeah. As if my PTSD wasn't still throwing my shots after, well, yes. Sometimes those voices that tell us it's worth trying or it'll be okay sound every bit as convincing as the ones they hide that say all those other horrible things (sometimes I think they're really the same voices trying to claw out however they can). Anyway...
I'm always willing to make sacrifices blood/first-born/other in the pursuit of writing. *nodnodnod* *hides knife, sharpening stone, and slightly reddish/brown rag behind back*
I'm adding my arms to the group hug that's currently forming. :)
I can relate to the depression issue since I have it too. I know I'm not a close, personal friend, but if you need to talk or anything, I'm on call. :) Take care of yourself.
Thank you, sweetie, I really do appreciate that. *hugs* Thank God for the meds -- they ensure that these episodes last for a couple days instead of a couple weeks. *shoos away the Black Dog*
I agree - thank G-d for the meds and the fact they make those times last for only a couple of days. One of the best days of my life - in retrospect, that is, the actual day seemed pretty lousy at the time - was the day my husband threatened to divorce me if I didn't get help. Thank G-d for him too, because he knew that's what it was going to take. I hope you have people who are willing to do whatever it takes for you too. :)
ETA: I love long too - means I can reread over and over and not memorise it! My longest was 60 000+. I certainly wouldn't mind if any of your stories went that long...just sayin'. :p
*cackles evilly* Oh, hon. My longest single story was 129K (Sacred Trust) and my longest series (Identical) is 282K and growing. You do not want to encourage a wackadoo who has spent the past eleven years re-writing the first season of Smallville to write longer in Sherlock. If anything, you should be urging me to restraint. FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THE HOLIES, RESTRAIN ME, or you may wake up to find me re-writing the entire ACD canon as slash. *g*

Your offer of sacrifices is also appreciated. Start with the Republican presidential candidates; God knows they won't be missed. *eg*
